The best sushi in VB! I was blown away. I'm very picky on sushi. I will never eat it from a grocery store. The Yellowtail was my absolute favorite! Pricy but worth it if you actually enjoy real sushi. They have some cool combos of flavors too! We did a reservation online so there was no wait. It was cool sitting at the counter and watching the chef but I could also see outside at the wave park.

I have a personal rule: I donβt leave a review until Iβve visited a restaurant at least twice. A great first impression can happen anywhere. Consistency is what separates a good restaurant from a great one. Our first visit was for a last minute bachelorette lunch, and Nami Nori won me over. The DIY temaki experience was interactive without feeling gimmicky, and the ingredients did exactly what good Japanese food should do, they spoke for themselves. Every hand roll had balance, freshness, and layers of umami that didnβt rely on heavy seasoning. The only dish that missed the mark was the mochi churro. The churro itself had a nice texture, but the lemon curd leaned too heavily on egg, dulling the bright acidity that makes a lemon curd shine. That first experience was enough for me to choose Nami Nori for our anniversary. Unfortunately, the second visit felt like a different kitchen. The food wasnβt bad, but it lacked the same precision and balance that made the first meal memorable. The flavors felt flatter, the execution less polished, and the overall experience simply didnβt justify the same price point. What surprised me most is the disconnect between the concept and the execut

Everything from the views to the food were perfection. My husband and I went here for a date night. The matcharita drink was DELICIOUS and my husband loved the sake variety. Our favorite dishes were the spicy tuna dip, toro + scallion, and the avocado toast roll. Weβll be dreaming about them until we return again. Tyler was our server. She was attentive, gave us some amazing recommendations, and was very personable! We would definitely return again.

Absolutely phenomenal and a delicious experience. Probably became one of my favorite restaurants. Ray was our temaki chef and he made the experience even better! XO Scallop was definitely my absolute favorite, it was amazing. I also got the Island Rum for a cocktail and the drinks have some kick but it was delicious! Everything about this restaurant was 10/10!

I am glad that VA Beach has a Nami Nori! Mainly because there arenβt many (if any) completely gluten free kitchens in Hampton Roads. The oceanfront is desperately in need of more restaurants with high-quality food, like Nami Nori. I understand that high-quality ingredients arenβt cheap or easy to come by, but the cost for what you get is a little wild. Thereβs no reason that the bill should be over $200 for 2 drinks, 1 app, 2 temaki sets (mostly vegetarian), and a dessert (4 churros). We had a reservation but service was slow and disorganized. The time between getting drinks, the appetizer, and the entrees was lengthy. Itβs also a personal pet peeve of mine when the bill is over $100 and they give you a ToastTab (handheld payment device) to pay the bill. Please use a checkbook. It elevates service. The food was incredible. I enjoyed the salmon sashimi and temaki sets. The drinks were okay, we didnβt get the correct sake that we ordered. Churros were delicious! I left with a happy stomach and felt satisfied.
